Who's in Charge? Rayna always likes to make sure that things will run smoothly in her absence. To this end, she always establishes among all present WHO will be in charge before she leaves the room to attend to other matters. Last weekend, she, Doug, and her daddy were watching a DVD. Rayna needed to leave to go to the bathroom, so she admonished her daddy, “Daddy, YOU be in charge while I am gone!” Grant nodded his head as he smothered his amusement. Rayna then turned her attention to Douglas and informed him, “I have to go. Daddy’s in charge now, Douglas, okay?”

Now ‘lest you think that ‘daddy’ was getting a raw deal, let me tell you about LAST night… Doug and Rayna were sitting on the floor coloring while I was sitting near them working on a scrapbook. Rayna needed to take a bathroom break, so she turned to Doug with utter seriousness and informed him, “Douglas, you be in charge while I am gone.” Doug nodded his head and Rayna, turning her attention to me, called out, “Mom, I have to go.
