Familiar Scents FYI: Background info. for those not from Grant's side of the family...Brianna is Rayna's 21 year old cousin and Glenn is her 23 year old cousin.

Now, on to the story! Last night, I told Darcy to please clear all the stuffed animals off their bottom bunk since Brianna was planning on spending the night with us and would be sleeping with Rayna while Darcy and Grant were out of town to record the band's next CD. (Mind you, there were only about 250 stuffed animals ON the bottom bunk! I think the girls must sleep ON TOP of their stuffed animals at night...or else, they must burrow beneath them because that is the only way THEY AND all those animals could ever reside in that same space!...and, even though Darcy objected to the contrary, I didn't think Bri would get a comfortable night's sleep either of those ways!) Anyway, as Darcy began clearing the bed, Rayna was going into melodramatics over the site of her 'babies' being exiled to the top bunk. Darcy tried to mollify her with the exciting news that BRIANNA would be sleeping in that bed with her the following night. Rayna was estatic to hear that and immediately ran from her room into Doug's room where she was overhead saying, "Let me smell your armpit, Douglas!" and, after a quick sniff, "You smell JUST like Glenn!" Heaven only knows HOW that child's mind works!

(Least you take offense, Glenn, let me say that Douglas had just climbed out of the bathtub a few minutes earlier and had freshly-soaped scented skin!. He had also used bubble-gum scented shampoo...but I don't think he scrubbed his armpits with THAT! I have NO IDEA what was going through that child's mind!!!)  ¶ 3/18/2006 01:42:00 PM
